UTV Ride Items: First Aid Kit and Repair Kit
For any kind of UTV ride you’re planning to take, whether it’s a relatively short one or a long-distance trip, preparing yourself for any potential issues is very important. This involves a few different areas, one of which is several important items you should typically have with you when setting off for any UTV ride.
At Motoroof, we’re proud to not only offer a huge range of UTV roofs, windows, dust screens and related products from industry leaders like Honda, CF Moto and many others, but also to provide clients with expertise on their entire UTV riding experience. What are some of the basic items or equipment pieces we recommend to all riders for any upcoming outing they’re taking? This two-part blog series will go over several.
First Aid Kit
First and foremost, no matter how light the terrain you’ll be riding on may be, you never know what your UTV might run into. If you skid, hit a rock or something else happens, no matter how small the impact may be, you could easily find yourself in need of basic medical assistance.
By having a well-stocked first aid kit with you on any ride, if an emergency does arise, it’ll be that much easier for you to get back on your feet and back in the driver’s seat. Items such as bandages, gauze pads, medical tape, scissors, tweezers and a thermometer can be crucial pieces of equipment for any riding trip that may require attention to your wounds or other injuries sustained during use.
Tool and Repair Kit
Likewise, you can never be sure when some kind of mechanical issue – such as a flat tire, overheating engine or an oil leak – might occur. What if your UTV starts to have problems and it’s already started raining? Having a tool kit on hand can save you from being stranded out in the middle of nowhere all night long.
Make sure that it contains everything you’ll need to get your UTV back on the road, including extra fluids for your engine (oil, gas, brake fluid), jumper cables, tire-changing equipment and other items. Don’t forget to also bring along a few basic hand tools as well – wrenches, socket sets and Allen keys/hex drivers are all important pieces of kit.
What about storage for all these items? There are a few options here, but perhaps the best is a roll cage storage organizer, which is easy to install on your UTV, can hold a multitude of items and is made of strong-yet-lightweight materials. It will also be sure not to cause any damage or decrease the performance of your vehicle either.
